Update : LORE 1.7 : Magpie

What is available in this release?

Lore 1.7 : Magpie changes Runes significantly, and introduces a new and improved UI.

Rune Block Creation

Creating Rune Blocks is now done directly in the template:

As you can see above, there are now five types of runes, as opposed to three.

- Text allows inserting a short text.

- Tags allows tagging one page.

- Option allows for creating a custom drop-down menu, and now features the new ability to attribute a color to each option, as shown below:

- Divergence allows for creating a custom Toggle, as shown below:

- Finally, Quantum allows for creating values, such as statistics, adding a unit if necessary, a default value, and a number of allowed decimal places:

These new rune types are part of the ‘The Workshop’ Stretch Goal.

The Grimoire

As some of you may have noticed, the Rune blocks were always « templates-within-templates ». It was possible to insert the same rune block in multiple templates, and changing one instance would change all other instances of the rune block.

This was a nice time-saving feature, but it also led to confusion. For example, duplicating a template and editing the rune block within it would lead to both the old and the new template changing, leading to frustration for users discovering the system.

As a consequence, this is not the default behavior anymore. New rune blocks will simply be independent from their copies.

In order to make new rune blocks a « template-within-a-template », as they were before, you’ll need to add it to the grimoire.

Simply click on the new magic button on the left, and add the rune to the grimoire.

Once it’s added to the grimoire, you’ll only be able to edit it from the Runes screen, and it will affect all instances of that rune block.

It will be easy to insert it in many templates using the new Grimoire tab in the palette.

A new UI

As you could also see from the above screenshots, the UI of Lore was significantly improved. Lore now uses a blue color as a background and in accents, to make it easier to distinguish from Tome at a glance.
