Update: Tome 1.9: Ara
What is available in this release?
The Tome 1.9 Ara update introduces new Toolboard modules, along with a refreshed look for the home screen. It also marks the arrival of one of the most anticipated Kickstarter rewards.
Toolboard Improvements
You can now create multiple toolboards in Tome!
To improve navigation and overall usability, the Toolboard interface has also been updated. The UI has been refined with several enhancements:
- You can now write on a Sticky Note even when it is locked
- A green highlight appears over the selected module
- You can choose the pencil stroke thickness in the drawing area
- And much more!
New Toolboard Tools
The major addition in version 1.9 is the arrival of new tools in Tome, many of which were highly requested by the community.
Dice Roll
The classic dice roll tool allows the GM to roll virtual dice. You can roll and create standard dice from d4 to d20, as well as custom dice.
Custom dice can add a stronger narrative and sensory dimension to your stories.
Cards of Fate
The card tool is also making its debut in Tome. It allows the GM to use virtual cards as a narrative or randomization tool. Card draws, known as Cards of Fate, are designed to enrich scenarios or introduce unexpected events into a campaign.
Stones of Destiny
Stones of Destiny have been added as a third option to generate randomness. This module is highly flexible and can easily adapt to many specific needs. In essence, Stones of Destiny allow for drawing a colorful stone from a bag, and letting the stones already drawn out of the next draw.
For example, here, we have created a bag with 5 failures, 5 successes, 5 ambiguous results, one critical success, one special event and one fumble. Two successes have already been “drawn”, meaning that future draws are more likely to result in failure.
Welcome Screen
Tome’s home screen has received a fresh new look! This new visual identity aims to improve structure and scalability, paving the way for upcoming projects.
Premium Themes
The Premium Themes (Pendragon, Neo Tokyo and Redrum) from the Kickstarter campaign are finally available!
If you backed the Kickstarter at the Trailblazing Wolf or Bird of Tale tier, you can now download and enjoy them. The themes apply to both Tome and Lore.
For Daring Fox backers, who can choose one of the three themes, availability is coming very soon.
To apply the themes, click on “…” in the top-left corner of each app, select Settings, then apply the theme of your choice.
