Update : TOME 1.7 : Magpie

What is available in this release?

Tome 1.7 : Magpie replaces Roles and Plots with Arcana, and introduces a new and improved UI.

Arcana

Roles and Plots are simple tools that allow the user to store what their players did for the moment they’ll need it. However, we’re adding two new options to do this, in a global system called Arcana.

- Choices, called plots in older versions, simply allow for storing the answers to Yes/No questions. The three buttons represent “Yes”, “No”, and “Other”, the latter being useful for dealing with the inevitable unexpected.

- Roles allow for storing the answers to “Who?” questions. Multiple characters, usually PCs, can be added to the list.

- Destinies allow for storing “How well” something went, be it an important dice roll or a complete side quest.

- Counts allow for storing “How much” of something happened, be it a reputation level or how much gold is on the players’ heads.

Additionally, all Arcana now have a comment system (this was reserved for plots before). This can be useful to add extra information about what happened, like this:

A green indicator will show you if something was written there.

To use this feature to its fullest potential, create arcana and insert them in your narrative pages at all moments when they will prove useful — either because there is an opportunity to change their value (e.g. whenever the players could earn or lose reputation with the Syndicate), or because there is an opportunity to make their value have an impact (e.g. whenever having too low a reputation could lead to trouble for the players).

However, you can also consult, edit, or change the value of Arcana in the new Arcana Table:

The Table

The new Table allows for seeing all Arcana in a centralized space, see everything about them, manage them, or delete them.

A new UI

The UI of Tome was significantly improved. Tome now uses an orange color as a background and in accents, to make it easier to distinguish from Lore at a glance.
